I agree with what Raed and Steve said pretty much.
Cant help you money wise as I got no clue myself! im bad at that stuff ha, but if thats where your comfortable go DO IT!
as for not achieving anything your proud of? Hahaha, thats a lie!…your probably just looking at yourself all wrong, possibly comparing it to other people etc.
Doesnt matter if other people think the things youve done are an achievement or not…you must clearly think they are because you did them, so just flip it around :).
Even if youve made “Mistakes” e.g the marriage you said was stupid…they are not really “Mistakes” they are lessons 😉 and learning experiences. After all they are what mould us..you wouldnt be the person you were today.
How about this as an achievement….You called quits on a dead end marriage? LOTS of people dont do that and just carry on etc and would probably just be married for the sake of it and be cheating etc. thats 1 right off the bat!
Im Sure there are lots of other things too if you just write down the things youve done including “Lessons” ;)..then just take a long hard look and dont concentrate on the negative, but the good thats come out of it
I told my ex the same thing, when she was getting all depressed etc when I told her her ex lover of 6 years cheated on her constantly…she got depressed, got mad at me etc…until I pointed out that she “dodged a bullet” essentially by breaking up with him and since then shes been on multiple holidays etc which she never was allowed to do whilst with him.
Im also at the point where im not that bothered if my ex contacts me…she isnt a god, sure shes got a wicked personality!…but theres lots of others out there too. I try not to post updates unless its a big argument etc..when I first came here, i would be worried about every contact she had with me and would post much detail here…now..I dont think much about it or post it here unless its a big argument and most of the time..its for a rant. I wasnt going to post that my ex contacted me until the day I left for my holiday..and only then as a simple update to my thread, it was only because I was replying to this thread that I stuck it in.
Think this shows how far weve come in terms of not been needy :). At this moment in time if my ex asked me to get back…I would actually say no, Ive done my grovelling and begging etc…She cheated etc and tbh think shes done me a favour she would have to do some chasing and convincing to get me back now 🙂

But I think I fell in love with you the moment I read about the time she asked you to dinner and you replied with your honesty, “I won’t be hungry at 5″… Yes, I was laughing so hard and woke up few times at night laughing at that comment but I think that was the initiation of your moving on from your ex and I’m so proud of you today that you’re enjoying life, travelling and so forth and less worried about her 🙂 …
AS for my ex, I’m genuinely worried about him the last time I spoke with him about 5 days ago he sounded much in pain though he said he’s taking ‘Chimpax’ to quit smoking and was making him feel really sick and taking other pain killers too… I was happy to hear that FINALLY he’s opened the chimpax pack cos we bought it together several months ago so at least and according to that phone call he’s in action to improve his life situation. I’ll be very happy the day he sends me a message or calls to tell me he got into University to do the one year masters degree he’s been meaning to do for years now but hasn’t due to his extreme travels and living in residency different country every year. He’s taken my advice on NOT accepting a 14 months stay in Berlin because he needs to concentrate on his life, future, career, family etc… and he’s taken my word on board 🙂 … I know he’ll thank me for it one day lol (if we’re still in contact)
Anyway, I’m happy to hear from you though I miss your stories with your ex and the time she went to the festival hahaha… you’ve come so far from that so big congratulations!…
Oh I forgot to thank you for your encouraging words, you’re a kind soul Festival David…
Perhaps, Steve is better with money and can assist me on that front (moving to Sydney) lol, thanks steve 😉

The last time your problem is that everyone around you is getting married or pregnant right? Lol. We are gonna have a couple anytime now. Ha ha!About you moving to the big city, if you feel more at home there not because of the ex but because you have gotten accustomed to the place or because the place radiates such a lovely vibe than where you are now, then I think it would do no harm if you will transfer there.
If you think you will be happier in that place and productive then go ahead. Though your ex is near there, I believe transferring to places is a sign of a good start 🙂

Update on me: I feel down most of the time lately. This is what I hate when I just stay at home for days. I can’t stop thinking of her nonstop and fantasizing. To my understanding US $ and Australian $ are of the same strength. I think US is cheaper than Australia in general though it truly depends on the state. I also believe that 6000 $ is a good amount to start a new life.
