    Officially four months… Not long but one of those relationships where everything just slots into place, probably because I was smitten with her and her friends said she was with me for quite a while beforehand. The biggest thing I’ve learned is how to pick someone who is emotionally immature.

    Hey @Oshi and @ty10

    ty10, you weren’t butting in at all, thanks for giving some advice to me πŸ™‚ And feel free to talk here, I don’t use this thread for myself anymore basically.

    I agree with most of what you guys said. This website has also helped me a great deal and the people are the nicest ever. I’m glad its being kept as a safe positive place for people to come to. It has been quiet though. A lot of people just moved on and rarely come here anymore. And really the most important thing, is that we love ourselves, that we fall in love with our lives, our passions, the possibilities for our future. I think 70% of people here, really want to improve, to be better as a person, to do better in a future relationship. And I find that really admirable, and that one day we will all get what we deserve because we work for it. If our exes used us, betrayed us, didn’t value us, its their problem really πŸ™‚

    I think I mentioned it here before, I got a job πŸ™‚ Its going well, I love working finally. It gets boring at times, but I think thats normal πŸ˜›

    Been a bit down since at this time last year me and my ex started dating and in less than two weeks would be our one year anniversary. But I have definitely come a long way. Even our mutual friend said I’m SOOOO different, like day to night. Much more confident, upbeat and finally free from that burden

    @kaila I agree with everything you said. I know what you mean, having these days myself lately. But we have to keep moving forward with our life and try to stay positive. It feels so good when you let yourself out of this burden, because we are the ones that keeping ourselves from moving on.

    Congrats on your new job! πŸ™‚ I know it’s boring sometimes but that’s how work is. Since I started working I feel much more happier and fulfilled and I meet new people which is great πŸ™‚

    @Kaila It’s amazing what something as small as a job, new clothes than make you look fantastic or new hobby does for your confidence. Congrats on the job too.

    I definitely think focusing on other things helps (so cliche), sadly during this break up I’ve had to have a knee op for a sports injury so there’s been nothing like work or the gym to focus on as I’ve been off work and unable to do much. That for me has been the real killer and probably made getting over the relationship 10 times harder.

    Now I’ve got a few things to start focusing on, such as getting back to fitness and sorting my career out without the worry of having to have another knee op which put me off applying for jobs, I feel better. I just want to be the confident me I was last year.

    @Oshi
    I’m a strong advocate of ‘moving forward’ rather than ‘moving on’. You can’t ever move on from someone you had strong feelings for but you can move forward in your life to discover other people, other feelings and other things that will make you happy.

    @ty10 I hope everything will turn out well for you! Just believe in yourself and I’m sure you’ll regain your confidence again!

    I agree. You can’t really move on from someone that’s why we need to do our best to move forward with our life and improve ourselves.
