    Is no contact worth it?
My ex already misses me and he still loves me. We’ve been talking every day but he said he wants to talk less (every few days) while we both adjust and try to Start getting over it.
I’m missing him and of course I want him back, but I’m cool- I’m not acting needy or irrational.
Would no contact help in my situation at all?

Also he’s going away for a month in just under 30 days, so should I see him/talk before he goes away or wait 60 days? I don’t want him to forget me and move on…

He mentioned talking less and less. He’s trying to get over it. It’s great if you two are on speaking terms.

You can approach it like you have been with false friendship. You can attempt to reconnect by making changes right in front of him.

Or you can go NC for 30 days. Follow the 5 steps.

I did false friendship, and a bit of NC here n there.. but it hasn’t helped. My ex has stated she lovede as more than a friend, misses me like crazy, loves me like crazy, but has moved on from the relationship.. but then makes statements about our paths crossing in the future. So I made the hard decision to move on. I wrote her a message telling her I am moving on and why. And good luck. (Shes currently on her second rebound but theyre now exclusive. And I also approached my ex about dating. She’s in no way ready to date me.)

It’s really up to you. Being friends with your ex has its advantages. But if it’s going to hurt you, frustrate you, or cause you to bring up the past… then go NC for a bit so you can get over that stage.

yeah my situation is pretty similar, he said he wouldn’t rule out getting back together in the future but right now he doesn’t want it.
I guess the best thing will be to do no contact for 30 days and then be LC/be kind of friends
    Thanks

Sounds like a good plan. Good luck. These boards are useful during this process. We are here if you need to vent.

He won’t forget you nor move on in that time.
If you talk to him before he goes away he might upset you as he’s still on track to move on. If you cut contact and possibly do 60 days then the both of you will be much clearer in your minds and possibly from then be friends with a possibility of reconciliation.

My situation is that my ex has understood he has to learn to over come anger issues towards me, because I’ve managed 2 weeks NC he has also said that the NC makes it better for him to cope with everything. So the NC is working. I just need to NC for much much longer.
To be honest, I do not want to ask him if he still loves me, or if he sees a future with me because I know if I hear the wrong thing I will crumble.
With his state of mind he could possibly say something I don’t want to hear but if I give it time, he might actually want to spend some time with me and my son like we used to. To build a friendship so I can show him I’ve acknowledged faults and show him I’ve changed.
There is no quick fix for me because I’ve found out he will be working away until March!
I may take up knitting! Lol
