I’ve been in a serious relationship for 2 years. Suddenly (to me) she’s showing the signs of a pending breakup. Texts that used to come 10 times a day are coming once a day and are brief. And a lot of signs that are opposite of when she was smitten with me.

I don’t know if I should play aloof (use the no contact rule before a breakup) OR tell her I love her, and that I recognize that her feelings may have changed, and ask to talk about what went wrong. I don’t want to seem needy.

Any suggestions? Trying to prevent the breakup from happening.

I was in the exact same situation from May to August before she finally broke up with me. You will want to talk to her about the topic and where you two stand. But in the end remember that no matter what you do in her eyes it will never be enough.

@skb5525 Open honest communication is always a good idea especially now that you’re feeling something’s changed.. I must tell you that 10 texts a day can become tedious and perhaps somewhat boring! Do you ever initiate texts or phone calls?? Two years is a long time and I’m wondering if you’ve done sweet things to show your love over the past 2 years?

Sorry I should have phrased that a bit better. I meant to say no matter what you do it might not be enough in her mind. But definitely do try to make a full effort definitely.

Have you tried talking to her about this? Remember that all relationships require work. Never take her for granted.

You mention no contact. Suddenly cutting of contact while still in a relationship is a mind game. Mind games never solved anything. NC is useful after a breakup to work on yourself and to see the relationship from a distance.
