Hey there Lee, going through something very similar, my ex is not as negative with me, mostly with herself. In that sense she always feels as she is not enough for me, reason why she ended it. Most times I would try and convince her otherwise, but I think I just need to think of myself, just as what you are doing, and let them figure this out.

Yeah to be fair during the relationship she’s always said that she’s rubbish and a bad girlfriend and that she’s better alone, I was always supportive but when the circumstances changed I went inside my shell and was depressed so I didn’t support her and made her feel worse and worse to the point of nearly self harming so I can understand why she doesn’t want me back I can only hope she changes her mind in the future but I can’t hold on to that or I’d go insane mate

    Lee,
If you feel your ex meets at least five of those criteria points I listed before, then she might have Borderline Personality Disorder. That is a whole other area that you might want to become familiar with to understand why she behaves the way she does. Be wary of information that suggests those with BPD are just evil or manipulative, because that is just not true, even though they do appear that way sometimes on the surface.

She definitely hasn’t got personality disorder but she’s very fragile when things not right and I’ve massively made her bad the guilt is crippling me dude even though she says I don’t blame you
