Ex sending weird text messages

I could really use some advice, especially from any men on the board.

My ex and I have been broken up for about 10 months and we sort of have been on and off seeing each other this whole time. But he won’t commit. I still want him back but his behavior has been strange the last few months.

We are currently “off” right now after he decided to be a jerk. So I went back into no contact for 21 days, reached out he ignored me went back into no contact and on day 30 he texted me to see how I was doing. I didn’t reply until next day and then we had a short chat for the next couple of days.

A few days later, he sent me a text asking “How are things?” I was busy and waited until the next morning to text back and then he didn’t respond and I figured he was mad at me or something.

Then a few days later, he texted me and asked “Any fun weekend plans?” I texted back in under an hour and it’s been 2 days and he still hasn’t texted back.

I really wish I could call him out and just be like what’s going on?? But I know I can’t.

Why is he behaving this way? He has reached out to me three times now in a week and a half and the last two times he keeps ignoring my responses. My texts have included questions for him. He asks me how I am, I respond, ask how he is and he ignores me.

What the hell??

I’m very frustrated and I feel like he’s playing games. I want him back but not like this.
