    Hello all,

I was dumped by my husband two weeks ago. It seemed to come out of the blue. We were together for over 9 yrs. He is currently deployed with the military. I got a lame reason, “I don’t think I want a relationship.”

We decided not to email for 5 days because things were getting kind of ugly. In the meantime I found this site and learned about NC. Today was the day we planned to talk again (through emails). He messaged me. I haven’t messaged back.

Should I respond? Or continue NC? I’m so angry, I don’t think I can send him a civil message, and I really don’t want to talk to him anyway. Any advice or thoughts are appreciated.

Dont send him a message. Continue NC as planned.

Stick to it, unless there is a life or death situation.

Thank you. I knew the answer, just difficult to keep a clear head right now.

He kept messaging me, so I did send him a short response not to contact me and that I need time and space.

    What Martin said.

    Great job on that!

My ex is currently having issues and is contemplating suicide, so I have to limit my contact with him unless he comes running to me for help.

While I can’t think of what’s going on through your head or your hubby’s head, I can see why he said that though. While he’s deployed, I don’t think he wants you to worry about him being shot up while on routine patrols.

I have a lot of friends who are deployed and I can only imagine what they were going through at the time.

@NyanCat I’m sorry you are going through that. I just read through your post and that’s such a tough situation.

Yes, it’s true I don’t know what my ex is going through, BUT he isn’t in a dangerous/combat zone. He is very safe, no where near any trouble. He said a lot of stuff and none of it was as nice as what you said unfortunately.
