Ex called, was I wrong to answer?

It’s been a week and a few days since the elephant in the room text and since i finished no contact.

I got a positive response to the elephant in the room text and I reached out today with something to make her laugh about. We had a pleasant text conversation when suddenly she called me.

I wanted to ignore it because I thought it was too soon but the “what if its an emergency” side of me though I should answer. Now before anyone thinks that it was an excuse and I was being needy or clingy and that’s why I answered instead of ignoring and pretending to be busy, I legit always answer any and all calls even from unknown numbers because the back of my head wonders if it could be my brother, sister, mother, relative, etc. in an emergency with a random phone somehow. You never know, so I thought well what if? Since we had been texting today i was the first name to pop up in an emergency? So i just answered.

No emergency and we had a pleasant conversation.

Could this have ruined anything? I had been thinking the whole time to take it super slow but I don’t like to ignore phone calls for what I already explained.
