Dumped me but keeps calling

I really need someone’s opinion other than my own to help me figure out what to do with my ex. He dumped me because every time we partied and drank too much I would get angry at him and tell him to go to hell. The truth is I was continuously angry at him because he wanted to keep his freedom to see other women but still have me on the side. Also he’s never been married and I am divorced with children so he said he wanted to marry someone with whom he could have kids for the first time. Also he´s younger than me. In any case I have not begged him to come back or called him or anything, but he keeps contacting me, he calls everyday. He checks up on me, wants to know what I am up to. I don´t know if I should keep answering his phone calls, I keep it really together every time we speak but I wonder if I am only weening him out of the relationship and maybe it would be best just to be completely unavailable. I did tell him I did not want to be friends but he keeps insisting. Help me get unconfused, please!!!!
