My ex and I both love each other but he can’t see a way forward due to cultural and religious differences. We were friends for four years and together just shy of three. It’s been a little over 5 weeks since we split up and last contact from me was a little over three weeks ago when I sent him an email. I’ve been doing all the NC things – going out with friends, focusing on my own hobbies, working out – but I miss him so much and just wish there was something I could do. He felt like I was on one side and his religion and culture were on the other and he could not reconcile them. Is there any chance for us? Looking for a little hope here.

He needs more time to think about it. You can’t talk him into changing his mind. Go no contact for at least a month or more and let him be the one to initiate the next contact. He might want to work out the issue with you, but if he doesn’t, accept the decision he made to break up due to cultural and religious differences! Maybe date others who share your values etc.
